Things I will need over the summer:

New clothes: roughly $200 worth, likely.
A car: $2000-$4000 (can be paid over time)
Food / Misc. Expenses: Don’t know, but safe bet is around $300-$500?

Clothes, 3 car payments plus down-payment, and food/misc: $3600
Total after all expenses: $1300, or nearly $100 a week

Expected income over Fall: $2500 (accounting for gas expenses and tax)

Things to pay for over summer ($194/week * 13 weeks):

Minimum $15 for food: $195/13 weeks
Car payment: $300/month, $900 overall
Meds: $30-$50/month, $90-$150 for school year

Total after all expenses: $1255 or about $90 a week.

So this is another “this is what I want plus how much it costs” things I do (ignoring...

So this is another “this is what I want plus how much it costs” things I do (ignoring how this entire semester went)

Expected income until Spring: $1300
Minimum amount I want to save: $500 for the spring semester
Amount I can safely spend: $800-ish

Things I want/need to buy:

Computer: $400-450
Drawing Tablet: $60-100
Combat boots: $50

The total so far is $600 max, $560 min, leaving me with $200-240.

Really good jacket: $40-50

I’ll amend this, surely.

It’s less than 2 weeks away from school starting, and I haven’t gotten my housing...

It’s less than 2 weeks away from school starting, and I haven’t gotten my housing contract :|

I’m somewhat worried about it, but I can go up there super early the first day of class and beg for a spot that someone else passed up on, by either not paying their contract or transferring or not attending, or like getting arrested/dying or something.

I also really need to talk to my grandmother about loans and stuff, because as it stand now, I have enough for tuition, but I’ll need another 6k or so in order to pay for housing/meals.

And today I’m going back-to-school shopping! There are some deals, and it’s a tax-free weekend, so I’m taking advantage. I might also go online tonight and try to order some things online!

Didn’t get the scholarship.
So Instead of not worrying about anything with a sweet 4k to fuck around with, I’m getting 16k of debt…and 4k to fuck around with :p

I don’t even really care at this point, tbh. I can’t stay here and go there, and I’m not setting myself back another year by staying here. So all that’s left is bucking up and swallowing a load of debt.

(that would be 58k in debt for 3 years, with paying 16k each year (not counting personal money))

So yeah
$9,000 for tuition
$1,000 for books (probably a lot less)
$3,300 for food
$3,000 min for staying Fall/Spring
and $3,000 for summer, counting tuition and books?

So yeah, $19,000 for a full year, fall//spring/summer (which I’ll need if I’m gonna graduate in the timeframe I want.)

So planning tomorrow, and then other stuff.

I’m going to bed, bluh.

Ok, so I saw my adviser on Monday, and he said that I can’t even register my classes until I...

Ok, so I saw my adviser on Monday, and he said that I can’t even register my classes until I attend this Transfer Orientation, so that sucks. I’ll be doing that on Aug 1st. (and taking a full day off of work to do it >:( )

I still have to get that meningitis shot, which I assume I’ll get before I do the orientation. I can’t be accepted to housing until I do that, but I’ve already sent in the form, so at least there’s that.

I hate having to do things last-minute, ugh.

I think I’m gonna ask my mom to check and see if I can just go to the local hospital and take it, because hospitals can’t really close, lol, so I might be able to do it sooner? At this point I don’t care if it’s more expensive.

And I really wished I had gotten that wow subscription back. :( because I have like another 5-6 hours that I could be spending on that.

And I still haven’t gotten anything from the scholarship thing, so I’m still on the look out for that! I expect it will happen in the next week or so (they only have like 2 weeks left of July)

Work is going good, and I only have another 5 weeks, so I’m over half-way done. I have around $2,000 dollars saved as of right now, so I’m expecting to have around $4,000 at least by the time school starts.

Got accepted to UT Arlington :D

I need to:

Go over my proposed courses again

Actually register them

Find the housing form and fill that out

Get that Meningitis shot

Get a new phone (walked into the pool with my phone >__<)

Get another RAM card for my computer

Maybe get another subscription to World of Warcraft

Contact my adviser sometime before starting

Not freak out

1-3 I can do like right now, 4-5 will be sometime this week? 6-7 might happen tonight. 8 has to happen soon, but won’t be very necessary.

9…we’ll see.

I got the internship by the way.

Work has been going good, although I haven’t had the energy to do the other things in my spare time that I wanted. I started preparing to learn some Trigonometry so I can get Directly into a calculus class. I also need to brush up on my algebra over the summer too. I figure 2 months is enough to get good enough to pass the entrance exam.

Also, I haven’t worked-out in over a month :( I really need to start that back up.

I also applied to UT Arlington a week ago, and briefly got my hopes up when something came in the mail on Friday from the school.

I may be going on anti-depressants if I can figure out how to get them without my parents telling anyone.

Ok, so the interview for my internship is coming up. I just got my suit today, and aside from the pants being a bit tight, it’s perfect. I should go in on Thursday or Friday, and I have to get new shoes before then as I only have two pairs of tennis shoes, and both are rather old.

I need to write out the questions that I’m expecting to be asked, and come up with answers to them, because I’m not the best at being spontaneous. I might also need hair-gel?

And then in a couple weeks, I still have the application for UT Arlington, but that can wait.

Ok, so my scholarship application and everything else has been mailed.

Now, a deadline coming up is getting my application in for UT Arlington. The deadline is June 1st, which is 3 weeks away. I need to mail my transcripts, fill out the application, and pony up $50 bucks for all this. I don’t need a letter of recommendation, I think, but I’ll email the program I’ll be applying to tonight.

After that, I have to complete the application for my internship, which with any luck is a piece of cake. I’m hoping that I can get that. That nets me a cool 2 grand to help move into college with, if I get the scholarship.

Hopefully that’s it.

Oh, and over this summer, I have to learn enough trigonometry/calculus to be able to pass the entrance exam for Calculus 1 at UTA. and I need to learn either Java or C++. I need to pass a higher-lever programming exam.

Frivolous things that I would like.

I would like to have:

A mini-fridge and/or microwave.

Several Posters (I’m kind of embarrassed about how bare my walls are)

A new wardrobe consisting of: About 6 shirts, four pairs of pants, a couple pairs of shorts, a jacket, and another hoodie

I would also like a new laptop, but that’s probably not going to happen

I need supplies

I need to be able to live off a little bit of that, so gas and personal money?

A job after this summer

A tablet

so that’s around $60 for the shirts, $80-120 for the pants, maybe $20-30 for the shorts, $20 jacket, $15 hoodie. Clothes alone come to $250-ish

Supplies would probably be around $30, with like $30 going to posters and wall stuff, so that’s another $60.

Mini-fridge is around $60, microwave would be $40, so another hundred.

That’s like $310, so roughly $420 for everything I want, and one of my roommates might have either a fridge or a microwave!

That leaves…$2000. ^__^ That’s more than enough, wow.

and god, I could pay for my phone, gas and spending money for like, 3-4 months.

Update on scholarship thing.

I have my letter of recommendation, the form is 98% filled out, I have a copy of my transcript, and I have around a week to mail it. After that, I will have to wait until July to hear back from them.

I’m all set for this. This is likely going to net me $16,000 dollars. That means I will not have to pay for tuition, books, room or board. All the money I earn from this internship, that I need to check the details of, will go purely toward luxuries.

I expect to take home at least $2,500 from this summer, around a thousand of which will likely go to furnishing my dorm, and buying new clothes for UTA.

I need to moderate my excitement, as I’ve been burned plenty of times by being over-excited.

So, anxiety again!

There’s a scholarship through my mothers work, and it would pay for an entire year at collage, holy wow. So I’m trying to nab it. Apparently, they only accept 25% of the applicants, because that would be a lot of money, so that’s understandable.

I was trying to get my English teacher to write a reference letter for this, and she said that I needed to volunteer to get this scholarship. My mom was like “oh, I know this person in meals on wheels, i’ll hook you up!”.

But then she didn’t call yet, and she’s had like, 4 days to do this.

And then, on the job front, my dad was super skeptical that I’ll get this summer internship, ugh. It’s not like I’m going to be needing a lot of money this next year, or that you have tons of cash to give to me /sarcasm.

So, hopefully I can light a fire under my mom, and she’ll get on that, and then I can go about asking for a couple other recommendations from my other teachers.

But I just remembered, I’ve volunteered at the special Olympics a couple of times, so that is another thing that I can put on my application!

Summer Job/neccessities

Ugh, so the whole “get a pre-summer job” failed spectacularly. I don’t want to drink bleach at all!!! /sarcasm

Anyway, My grandmother is getting me the paperwork to apply, and also a suit for the interview, and dress shoes too maybe. Instead of a resume I will be sending in a letter of intent? It is basically the same thing, only for the jobless. She seems to be very excited about it.

I will be getting a 3.6 for this semester barring another opportunity for extra credit. Or, I hope that I will be getting that, fingers crossed.

I also need to fill out the paperwork for this scholarship through my moms company. (Dad doesn’t have a company atm, sooo)(damn, he should have stayed at his work last month, lol, get me some of that moneys)

Oh, and I will only be getting $1,600 from financial aid :/
And that does not even reflect the fact that right now my parents are not making as much as they were. That is another way that my dad quitting screws me over, as the government expects us to make more than we are, but we aren’t.

Hopefully this is reflected next year, but with my luck dad will get a new job and everything will be screwed up again.( lol @ hoping he stays out of work so I can suck on that sweet government dick)

And I need to check on Phi Theta Kappa for next year, as they give out $1,000-$2,000 per semester I think! That’s pretty sweet too.

Good news/Bad news

Good news: I don’t have to apply right now.

Bad news: I am definitely not getting that scholarship.

I don’t have the credits right now, and I can’t put it off, so~. I really wanted it, which sucks the most. I’ll have to see about how much I can get in grants, because I’m will surely need them.

And now that I think about it, I probably didn’t get any extra financial aid aside from the Pell grant because tuition was so cheap. I expect that I’ll get a lot more this fall. There’s the Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, and the Texas Educational Opportunity Grant, which give up to $4,000 each, I think. Chances might be good that I won’t have to borrow any money for tuition, but I’m not gonna expect that, it’s just a possibility.

Aside from that, I’ll go and see about my schools’ work-study program, which won’t bring in much money, but it’s better than nothing. My classes have been fine so far, and homework wasn’t that bad. It’s all good right now, aside from the lack of job.

Potential Problem

I can apply as a first-years, and then become a sophomore when I get the credits, but first-years have to submit ACT/SAT scores, and I don’t know if the placement test I took counts?

So, I need to call on that tomorrow, as that’s somewhat important to the entire process.

With any luck, I’ll be all set, and I can apply and get that $3,000/year scholarship.

That’s so sweet, I’m really putting myself out on a limb and hoping that I get it.

Heard back from UTA

I can apply with less than 24 credits, then just submit another transcript when I get them.

Also, gonna cut it close again, although it’s less necessary than last fall, lol

I e-mailed UTA

About the application process, asking if I could apply as a sophomore even though I won’t have all the credits until after summer. And how long it takes to hear back from applying.

I may go through the actual application form and look to see a couple other things. Gonna do that now, I think.

I got registered for spring!

Finally, I didn’t get exactly the schedule I wanted, but it was close enough.

I might see if I can E-mail UTA instead, because I don’t really want to call…

And my textbook are going to be less than last semester, and I still haven’t sold those books, so that’s another thing.

Um, what else? Uh, I’ll go do that (e-mail) now, I guess.

The website is being a butthole

So I still haven’t registered, I’ll go up there Tuesday and do that, but I’m disappointed that I can’t from the safety of my bed.

I’m also about to look at when UTA opens back up, so I can call them and ask a couple of things.

Oh Yeah

The Tuition/Aid/Loans problem.

Basically $11,000 for Tuition+books a year.
I got $4,500 in Aid, so that would bring it to $6,500
I plan on getting a $3,000 Scholarship, bringing down to $3,500
I can get that much in loans, definitely.

So, $3,500 for the first year, assuming that I don’t get any other scholarships/aid. Hopefully my Financial Aid stays the same, my parents made more money this year(I think?) Although my mom was working two jobs last year, so who knows.

I don’t know about after this year, though. I can’t get that Scholarship after this year, so either it will be more money or I’ll find something else.

If all goes well, I won’t end up with more than $15,000 in student loans, which is pretty good, I think.
